Restylane is made by the company called Q-med and they have a product which is known as Restylane Sub-q. This product is specifically used for the cheek enhancement and not for anything else. People who have cheeks which are low in volume and look like sunken cheeks need this cheek enhancement to achieve fuller face.
Restylane Sub Q is made up of the Hyaluronic acid and Sub Q in particular made up if special form of hyaluronic acid which has been formulated specifically for facial contouring and not for any other form of wrinkles filler.
For cheek enhancements the areas are marked beforehand where the Restylane will be injected and then the local anesthesia is given in these parts to make sure that patient does not feel any pain. After the anesthesia is given the injectable clear gel hyaluronic acid is injected and the facial rejuvenation is completed.
It is generally advised to take rest for a considerable amount of time before you can go in for work and even any sort of excessive exercise activity. Do not go into the sunlight such that it then becomes a problem. The area where the Restylane Sub q has been injected are very tender and it is not advisable to do nay sort of tanning or pas activity also.
Side Effects
There will some swelling and redness as is there with regular Restylane side effects. The swelling wear off in generally 48 hours and it is only after that you will see the affect of the Restylane Sub Q on your face.
Advantages over the permanent fillers is that gradually the effect of the Restylane Sub q will wear off in say six to eight months and then you can decide if you like it or not. It is better than permanent fillers that you will not be stuck with the rejuvenated face that you do not like.
No allergy
Since the hyaluronic acid injectables are non animal based and have no animal proteins the chances of having any allergic reactions are nil and hence no allergy tests are carried before administering the injections.
