Restylane and Perlane are both the products from the same company which started with the manufacturing of the Restylane.
Both have the same hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance that is there in the body and this acid gives the elasticity and the smoothness to the body. Perlane is also non animal-based and do not contain any animal protein. How this helps is that there is no allergy test needed before the injections. In addition both Perlane and Restylane are FDA approved.
Comparison between Restylane and Perlane
Restylane is made of the hyaluronic acid clear gel particles and the difference lies in the fact that Perlane has the hyaluronic acid gel particles which are larger.
Now the difference those larger gel particles help in filling those sever creases and folds. Since the hyaluronic acid attracts water then gel when injected will attract moisture .
Perlane has been used by a lot of doctors or cosmetologists as a filler along side using the Restylane or the Juvederm Injections.
In general the skin has the three layers and the upper layer when filed can help with the fine lines and the superficial wrinkles but for deep crease and folds you will have to have the deep dermal
The Perlane or the Juvederm Plus have more cross linking which essentially means that they can easily withstand more stress and compression and that in turn means that they can be injected at places which are subject to more movement and stress like the nasolabial folds. Again these creases at the nasolabial folds are deep and hence the Perlane is better suited than anything else.
As far as the costs go there is no major difference between the restylane costs or the Juvederm costs and the Perlane costs. However that said if the dermatologist uses the Perlane as filler in the mid layer and then uses the Juvederm or Restylane as the additional filler then the overall costs will increase so the interesting statistic to look at is the number of syringes being used in each treatment to determine the total cost.
