One of the most common skin problems is large pores but they can easily be concealed using makeup, particularly a pore concealer, which is specifically formulated to hide flaws. It works as a foundation but is only used on specific areas of the face. Pore concealers are typically applied on the forehead, nose, chin, cheeks and in other areas where pores appear large and rather noticeable.
Although pores tend to appear large on people who have oily skin or acne-prone skin, anyone can actually have them. The important thing to remember is to refrain from squeezing these pores or trying to pop pimples as these actions push the oil deeper into the pores, making them look larger than they are. In truth, pores can’t be physically shrunk. However, it is possible to minimize their appearance through proper care and use of a pore concealer. Many of these products are also formulated to treat skin blemishes, particularly if they contain benzoyl peroxide. Another good ingredient to look for is salicylic acid.
Many brands of pore concealers come in either colored or translucent formulas so they will match the user’s skin when applied. Most of them temporarily fix the problem of visible pores by filling the pores and making skin appear even. That is why it’s important that the skin is cleansed and makeup is removed before bed time to avoid any complications.

There also many simple tricks that can help to significantly reduce large pores, at least visually. You can also read about how do I treat visible pores.
* After the face is cleansed, rinse the face using cool water or rub a piece of ice cube over the face. This will help shrink pores temporarily, which prevents makeup from entering them.
* Before putting on makeup, apply a refining or pore minimizing lotion. There are many brands to choose from and they are quite helpful in reducing the size of the pores and protecting skin from irritants that will clog it. Brands such as Biore, Avon, Estee Lauder, Clinique, Neutrogena, among others are popular manufacturers of these lotions.
* Also a good solution is using a base such as makeup primer before putting on makeup. Women who have visible pores have discovered that putting on a good primer before applying makeup helps minimize large pores.
