It is recommended that body scrubs be used regularly for best results, and this is especially true in the winter. Harsh weather during the winter months leaves skin more prone to dryness. With so many body scrubs available, it is hard to choose the best, but brown sugar scrubs are among the most popular.

Typically, a sugar scrub is believed to be more gentle than salt scrubs. The benefits of a sugar body scrub are numerous both physically and chemically. The glycolic acid within sugar scrubs is very important for radiant skin and as a protectant against atmospheric toxins. It is also said that these scrubs, when used in a circular motion, increase circulation just under the skin.

Despite tiny bead-like particles in the scrubs, they do not clog pores. Instead, these scrubs help protect against moisture loss, clear pores of dead skin and debris, and are relaxing. A brown sugar scrub in particular has a relaxing effect because of its delicious smell. It also is generally a better idea for sensitive skin, as the grains of brown sugar more fine than those of white sugar.
